Cardinal numbers

In spanish the cardinal numbers between 0 (zero) and 30 (thirty) are formed with only one word:

Important

In Spain the “.” symbol is used to separate thousands and “,” to indicate decimals: "Mil quinientos cuarenta y cuatro coma veintiuno" would be written as 1.544,21 in Spain and in the most of the Spanish- speaking world but as 1,544.21 in the United States. México, Central America and Puerto Rico, usually, punctuate as in the United States.

In Spain, a billion is one million millions, whereas in the United States it is one-thousand millions.

Gender:

The gender of the cardinal numbers is masculine (el uno, el siete, el diez)

The cardinal numbers like docientos, quinientos, etc. agree in gender with the noun to which they refer: doscientos estudiantes, quinientas mariposas

The cardinal number "una" lose the "a" before the femenine nouns which begins with stressed "a" or "ha": un águila, un hacha but una antena,una sandalia

The cardinal numbers with "uno/a" like veintiuno/a, treinta y uno/a, etc. lose the "a" when they preced a masculine noun or a femenine noun which begins with stressed "a" or "ha": treinta y un águilas, veintiun libros, cuarenta y un hachas but veintiuna sandalias, treinta y una antenas

Ciento will be Cien when is an adjective before a masculine or femenine noun: cien montañas; cien estufas; cien hermanos
